It was announced this morning that South African comedian Trevor Noah will take over as host from Jon Stewart on The Daily Show later this year.

There’s been quite a bit of speculation over the last few days, so it’s not a massive surprise but I think he’s a good appointment. I have only seen him live once and he is in direct contrast to Jon Stewart’s loud, abrasive style. Trevor Noah is quieter, smoother, slower and will take The Daily Show in a totally different direction I think, which is a good thing. I love The Daily Show and can’t wait to see what Noah does with it.
