Let the madness begin!
September 17, 2014My wedding season has taken over my life as it always does. It’s strange writing these blogs retrospectively, weeks after I have shot a wedding - but etiquette is etiquette and I won’t publish until the (hopefully) happy couple have seen the photos.
Alex & Charlotte’s glorious home spun wedding took place at the beginning of September and I almost can’t remember it now as the wedding madness takes hold and I am now almost on wedding four in three weeks.
It rained the day before. Not just rain - a veritable monsoon. The heavens opened. My rain free record was in serious danger of being scrubbed right out. I wan’t hopeful.
Oh ye of little faith - come Saturday, it was grey - then absolutely glorious! The umbrellas that I bought two years ago stayed in their cellophane for another wedding.
When I first met Alex & Charlotte earlier in the year, I knew that theirs would be a wedding I would love. Not only because it was being held in the next village along from mine (though I must say, I heartily recommend working only five minutes from home) but everything was deeply personal. They were setting up a marquee in Charlotte’s parents garden and getting married in the local church. These are my absolute favourite weddings of all.
I’ve done a few weddings like that now, and you absolutely cannot beat anything about them. Everyone is totally relaxed, and literally, at home - it’s an atmosphere you just cannot buy.
Even the cake topper was made by hand by Charlottte’s dad - beautiful!
I’m growing to love Northamptonshire - I thought this year would be lean to say the least what with a wholesale relocation, but this county is amazing. I have never been so busy so late in the year and it is beautiful. I never realised - as you will see in the next few blogs…
Until the next one…
